Urban Aboriginal experiences | Rob Hyatt, Koorie Heritage Trust
You don't have to travel too far to connect with and experience Aboriginal culture in Melbourne.
Meet Rob Hyatt from the Koorie Heritage Trust. Located on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people in Melbourne's Federation Square, the Koorie Heritage Trust is an organisation dedicated to creating experiences that connect the broader public to Aboriginal culture and providing spaces for local Aboriginal communities to engage with history and culture in their own way.
Through the city's natural surrounds, its art, food, fashion and stories, you've only to look around while you're in Melbourne to see the influence of Aboriginal Culture on the city. One incredible example is Melbourne's largest piece of artwork, a 32-story tall portrait of William Barak that hides in plain sight on the Barak Building, looking out across Melbourne and capturing the story in the city's landscape.
